Planning your ServiceNow instance upgrade

To prepare your ServiceNow instance for an upgrade to the Gold release, follow these steps:

Gold Release (DataSync Agent, DataSync for ServiceNow Agent)

• Setup DataSync Agent for Snowflake through the Agent Installer.

• More visibility into batch receipts generated by the replicator agent.

• Manually re-share records between a designated time interval.

• Configure the number of times the DataSync agent will retry after a SQL error.

• Improved better error handling for DataSync agent when messages have empty values.

• DataSync agent name is now automatically generated from the instance name as instancename_subscribe.

• Choose to use the JDK/JRE directory path defined in the JAVA_HOME environment variable when configuring your DataSync Agent.

• The agent.xml configuration file's database_parms directive has been standardize.

• Ability to select which temporal columns will be primary key in agent.xml.

• Configure time difference between temporal entries in agent.xml.

• Added machine's hostname, internal IP address, Java version and OS version to DataSync Agent's heartbeat.

• You can now validate the installation of the Repeater Agent.

• Updated agent to utilize 3.9.0 Snowflake JDBC driver.

• Target database schema will now derive from the target table name.

• Configure your DataSync Agent with sorting your database columns in alphabetical order. 

• Prevent your DataSync Agent from altering your database column size.

• Tasks pointing to the same database and server will allocate and start only one table stats collector to avoid placing excessive load on the agent and the database.

• DataSync Agent will now replicate records with foreign character. Having the previous DataSync Agent release will still have the issue, simply upgrading to Gold WILL NOT fix the issue. Check out the following link to fix the issue: Why am I having error replicating records with foreign characters?

Gold Release (DataSync for Salesforce)

• Optimized Perspectium Apex Triggers to improve performance and speed.

• Improved error handling for previewing bulk shares.

• Previewing bulk share is prevented while a bulk share is running. 

• MultiOutput processing jobs will no longer be present in scheduled jobs after deletion.

Gold Release (ServiceBond)

• Special characters are now supported by meshlet integrations.

• Integrated incident and request in ServiceBond for Jira Service Desk.

• Override only share updated fields property by using the always share field property in the table field map record.

• Use Incident Management group share template to quickly create an integration for the incident process.

• Create change request to work item integration between ServiceNow and Azure DevOps via an Azure DevOps meshlet.

• ServiceBond for ServiceNow will now correlate the sharing instance’s record on insert.

• On dynamic shares you are no longer restricted from using "Include Journal Fields" when "Business Rule When" is set to "Before". Instead, a warning message is displayed to notify users that "Include Journal Fields" should not be checked when sharing to another ServiceNow instance or SIAM integration.

• Deactivated Application Access Count action by default as it sends excessive noise that may not be useful for alerting
