By default, ServiceNow display values for reference fields and choice lists will not be shared out in your dynamic shares and bulk shares. However, you can enable the sharing of display values for these fields in Replicator properties.

(info) NOTE: Display values do not ensure referential integrity when used to join with other tables. To ensure accurate joining between tables, always rely on the actual sys_id value in the reference field instead.


Prerequisites

(warning) First, you will need to install Replicator for ServiceNow and run the Perspectium Finish Install scripts.

Procedure

To share display values for reference fields and choice lists with your dynamic shares and/or bulk shares, follow these steps:


Log into your sharing ServiceNow instance and navigate to Perspectium > Replicator > Properties.


Check the box labeled Enable replicator to add display value fields (prefixed with 'dv_') for reference and choice fields. Then, scroll to the bottom of the form and click Save to save your changes.





Options

You now have the option for dynamic shares to trigger when display values are updated. 


Navigate to Dynamic Shares and make sure you have the Update trigger condition checked. Then check the Share on updated display values box. 

(warning) WARNING: When you manually set all fields in a table to not be a display field, no records will be shared for updated display values for that table immediately or after that. This is for cases of choosing a display field and after disabling the old display field in a short amount of time. The share will turn on again once a field is selected to be a display field


Scroll down to the Display fields related list below where you can add specific display fields or all the display fields to trigger the share.
